Founder experience
The brief
Build the strategy, press and promotion around the first London pop-up for a second-generation Nigerian tannery: five days at The Corner Boutique, Chelsea, 27 to 31 August 2025.
The challenge
For three decades Winston Leather supplied hides to European houses without appearing anywhere on the label. London needed to meet it as a luxury house, not a supplier.
The approach
Position Winston as a luxury house with heritage, built on Kano's centuries-old tanning tradition and the gap between where luxury is made and where prestige is claimed.
The delivery
- Positioning for the London market.
- The narrative, built on Kano's tanning heritage.
- Press and media relations across the five-day pop-up.
- Promotion around the launch of Amagu, the house's luxury line.
- The long-form feature From Kano to Chelsea in The Southern African Times.
The outcome
A first London retail moment with its own story attached, and the Amagu line launched at the showcase.
